This Primary and Post Primary Teaching Preparation course enables students to progress to degree programmes in:
Primary School Teaching For learners who have achieved the minimum Leaving Certificate entry requirements for primary school teaching, but who did not achieve a H4 in Higher Level Irish. The learner will complete Leaving Certificate Higher Level Irish and will achieve the QQI Award in Childhood Education and Training 5M3635.
Post Primary School Teaching For learners wishing to use the QQI Award in Childhood Education and Training 5M3635 to gain entry to a career in post primary teaching through a variety of educational progression routes (see Educational Progression)
This course also leads to direct employment opportunities within the Early Childhood Education and Training sector (see Employment Opportunities)

Education Progression
Students may apply to the following courses where they have achieved the Leaving Certificate points and minimum entry requirements for primary school teaching in their Leaving Certificate exam.
Where students did not achieve a H4 in Honours Irish, they may complete this subject again at SCFE and where successfully achieved they may apply to the following courses;
There is no direct QQI entry path to Primary School Teaching.
