The Advanced Art & Design Level 6 programme is designed for students who wish to deepen their artistic practice, return to art after time away, or begin working as independent artists. This course supports creative development at a higher level while building the confidence, discipline, and professional approaches needed to sustain an art career or progress to further education.
Students work independently and through structured projects to strengthen artistic and craft skills, visual language, and personal artistic direction. You learn alongside other creative, like-minded adults in a warm, supportive studio where confidence grows and creativity thrives. By the end of the year, students will have produced a portfolio of work and will showcase a selection in the annual Art Exhibition.
The course is suitable for:
- Learners who have achieved a QQI level 5 Certificate in Art and and wish to further refine their skills and portfolio for higher education.
- Mature learners returning to education who have artistic ability but may not hold a formal qualification.
- Practising or trained artists who have taken time away from their work and wish to rebuild confidence, skills, and professional momentum.
- Those who wish to develop a sustainable personal practice with the aim of exhibiting or selling work.
