At Sallynoggin College of Further Education, near Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, we offer a Personal Training and Sports Therapies Course, which is suited to learners who have achieved the QQI Level 5 Certificate (or equivalent) in Sports, Recreation and Exercise studies and who have a sound understanding of anatomy and physiology. It is designed to enable learners to develop the personal qualities, knowledge, confidence and skills required to progress and pursue a career within the health and fitness industry, either through advancement to third level or by going directly into employment.

“I wanted to start Physiotherapy as soon as I lost my job, but looking back I think that would have been catastrophic because I learnt a lot at Sallynoggin College of Further Education. The teachers at Sallynoggin College taught me so much about the fundamentals of the anatomy of the body and that meant I hit the ground running when I started University.”

Physiotherapist Stephen Finlay, from Greystones, graduated top of his class and received the Delsys Prize for Academic Excellence.

Former learners have progressed to third level colleges such as DIT, IT Blanchardstown, Dundalk IT and Carlow IT. Universities in the UK include St. Mary’s University College, Strawberryhill, University of Central Lancashire, University of Edinburgh, University of Chester and Aberystwyth University to study degree programmes in Leisure Management, Physiotherapy, Sports Rehabilitation, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Management & Coaching and Health & Physical Activity.
