At Sallynoggin College of Further Education, near Dun Laoghaire in Dublin, we offer a Social Studies including Criminology & Addiction Studies Level 5 Certificate course, which offers a broad introduction to the area of Social Studies.
This course is designed to enable learners to develop the personal qualities, knowledge, skills and academic background required to progress and pursue a career in the social work/social care sector, either through advancement to third level or by going directly into employment.
This course combines a broad and balanced foundation in Social Studies with an exploration of a range of social issues such as crime, inequality, migration and ageing.
“Making the decision to come back to education was definitely the right one. I have really enjoyed the course and have gone on to study the Advanced Social Studies course here in SCFE, making some life-long friendships along the way.”
